Butchers made a 'killing' in bullock smuggling

It is extremely hard to assimilate the facts stated in this article. Such astonishing, inhumane and selfish acts on the part of the butchers are just plain disgusting. People are at times driven by an uncontrollable need to make money, even if it’s at the cost of someone else’s happiness, or in this case, even life. The brutal manner in which these butchers stuffed the bullocks in that truck, with such complete disregard for their wellbeing, makes one realize just how far someone can go to satiate their greed. I shudder at the mere thought of the excruciating pain that those innocent animals were forced to endure. If it wasn’t for the members of the Karuna Parivar, all the bullocks would probably have succumbed to the injuries caused at the hands of 3 merciless and uncompassionate men. This kind of atrocious behaviour on their part deserves more than being imprisoned; a more severe punishment should have been given in order to warn any others who dare to commit similar crimes.

When the anti-cattle slaughter laws were enforced in Gujarat, the authorities should have helped butchers find other means of employment instead of leaving them to fend for themselves. If that was done, then this unfortunate incident could have been prevented.
